It was finally time for my bestfriend and I to take our annual girls trip. Our destination, Miami’s South Beach! We opted not the plan anything, but simply allow our spontaneity to guide us. As a result, the week was one for the books!
ACCOMODATION (W – South Beach, Miami)
I fell in love with the W the minute I set foot in it. It was a beautiful beachfront property, with impeccable service, great amenities and stunning interior. The candy cane beach beds along with black and white ones next to the pool, the heavenly garden and the eye grabbing art scattered throughout the premises all added to the pleasantries. Their brunch menu sealed the deal! It was there that I developed a crush on their fresh watermelon juice, which became a favorite of mine for the rest of my stay.
Being surrounded by locals gave us the opportunity to sample authentic Cuban cuisine. I recommend Havana 1957 for a delicious meal accompanied by either a pitcher of sangria or mojito, live music and great vibes.
Broken Shaker (2727 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33140)
This awesome bar is located inside a hostel… The Freehand Hostel to be exact. They serve up fabulous cocktails in a laid back, yet trendy backyard environment. The lounge has a unique design, where you can sip in comfort. Order one of their daily specials and you definitely won’t be disappointed!
Faena’s Tree Of Life Bar(3201 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140)
This might honestly be the prettiest bar I’ve ever seen! The quaint outdoor seating area is intimate and inviting. Their beverages are a sight to see and deliciously tasty.
If you want to enjoy Vegas style pool parties on South Beach, look no further! The SLS Pool Party (at the SLS Hotel) can be a fun filled experience. If you’re not up for the crazy vibe, I’d still recommend you have a drink at their bar at some point.
SLS South Beach, 1701 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Ladies, if you’re looking to experience Miami’s club scene and don’t have any local friends to show you the ropes – just post your arrival on Instagram and the party will surely find you! We received many free invites, but only had time to attend a chosen few. Fellas, you on the other hand should expect to pay a cover charge.
I was in Miami for 6 days, 2 out of which were plagued by rain. Needless to say we maximized our 4 days, however there’s a lot still left to see. South Beach was a blast, and I can’t wait to return and explore more of the city!
